Module three of the course requires you to produce a report on a local building of social and architectural interest. Blackpool has many beautiful buildings so I was a bit torn as to which to choose but settled on the Winter Gardens as it is an excellant example of the Art Deco style as well as great theatrical design with intricately detailed plasterwork to many areas in particular to the impressive Imperial Ballroom. There are guided tours throughout the year which allow you to also see the Pavilion Theatre of 1878 inside the Horseshoe which is sadly no longer in use.
